Shown in the group exhibition ”With weary backs and hearts with room for more-about care and value” at Konsthall C in Hökarängen, Stockholm Sweden,  May-Aug 2022. Curated by Ulrika Flink, Gunilla Lundahl and Jenny Richards.

This work was made as a commission as I had won an open call for artists who work in care jobs. Vård och värde (Care and value) is a project run by Jenny Richards, Gunilla Lundahl and  Ulrika Flink.

In ”The Bridge” I work with the intersection between my job in care, my work as an artist and the time when I worked as a dental technologist before I started  my Bachelor in Fine Art.
The starting point for the work was the shame I had felt in the art world for working in care. For not being a ”real artist”, it was also about lifting forward the question to myself, why I had chosen dental technology and then left it for coming back to Fine Art again.
For me the work speaks about the need to express yourself and the act of speech, or singing, the oral, in connection to the body and care work and making art.

In the exhibition I made  a performance with my care job colleague Niklas Wennström, who is a professional double bass player. This was our first public performance as Bryggan duo.

The Bridge was also shown in the group exhibition ”Care and Value” at Whose Museum in Malmö in 2022.
