Display for Live Performance

Performance event curated by Carola Dertnig, part of Troubling Research — Performing Knowledge in the Arts

xHibit Academy of Fine Arts Vienna December 2011

I took out a canvas from a bag and asked two persons from the audience to step up on ”stage”. I asked them to hold the canvas while I drew onto it. Then I asked them to leave the room with the canvas to fixate the drawing outside the exhibition. While they were away I told the rest of the audience about the construction I had drawn — a Display for Live Performance, a box with a window to perform into. I talked about the construction until the two persons came back with the drawing.

Participating artists: Carola Dertnig, Teresa Maria Diaz Nerio, Diedrich Diederichsen, Simonetta Ferfoglia, Simone Forti, Patricia Grzonka, Ugo Guarino, Nina Herlitschka, Tom Holert, Carrie Lambert Beatty, Anita Moser, Gina Pane, Heinrich Pichler, Johannes Porsch, Nicole Sabella, Johanna Schaffer, Janine Maria Schneider, Stefanie Seibold, Axel Stockburger, Tanja Widmann, Maria Ziegelböck
