AboutAnna Kinbom is an artist with a bakground in painting and performance. She received her MFA from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm in 2013 and has studied Performative Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
Anna works with text-based performances, micro-histories, installations and music. In 2022 she performed her solo The potential of conversations leading nowhere at Index Foundation in Stockholm and Pulpería Mutuálica in Buenos Aires. The piece was produced during a residency in Buenos Aires with CPR-Curatorial Program for Research funded by the Swedish Arts Grants Committee end Helge Ax:son Johnssons stiftelse. In the performance she read from her publication with the same title as the performance and sang new tunes from her already extensive repertoire of songs which make up an important part of Anna Kinbom’s artistic work. This work was a continuation of Anna’s lates work which the recent years has concentrated on going back in contemporary history and memories from her youth and from attending music, art and dance courses as a kid and young adult.
In 2023 Anna had a solo exhibition at Extension Art Space in Stockholm. Anna has made commissions for exhibitions at Konsthall C in Stockholm and Celsius Projects Malmö. She has made commissioned performances for Stockholm Konst, Marabouparken and Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
